It pleases God when we make our petitions to Him. God wants us to trust, rely, and depend on Him in all things.
God wants you to present your request and make it known what you want from Him. He is not afraid of BIG prayer requests. He is not intimidated by them but finds pleasure in you putting your trust in Him to accomplish what appears to be a great task in your eyes. God is not offended when we call and asks of Him but it is what He desires and expects.
In Joshua 10:12 Joshua asked the Lord to stop the sun so that he could get the victory that the Lord desires for him and He did it. It was not too much to ask of God.
In 1 Kings 18 Elijah asked for rain according to God’s word and He did it.
In Judges 6:36-40 Gedieon asked God to confirm His word and He did it.
God is able and willing to do the seemingly impossible in response to your prayers because absolutely nothing is too hard for Him and He values being good to you and in a relationship with you.
This is not a post encouraging you to treat God like a genie but this is a post to remind you that if you are a born-again child of God that He loves you and does not mind being GOOOOD to you.
Luke 12:11-13 says, “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
God desires to be GOOD to you because He loves and values you, so ask Him for what you want and need. He is waiting to bless you with what has been reserved for you.
James 4:2-3 says
2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
So, ask of your Daddy that which is GOOD and in alignment with His will, with the right motives and receive not only what you want but what He wants you to have.
…Are you His?
