It is very easy to get comfortable in a nice land but you can not settle because there is a promise land for you.
Joshua was in a nice position underneath Moses. He was comfortable. It was a place of honor but when the time came, he had to shift! He had to rise up and conquer the land God was calling him to.
He had to leave a nice comfortable situation and embrace a call from the Lord to fulfill the purpose of The Lord due to a void in the land.
There was a leadership void, so God called Joshua to ARISE and be the leader that was needed.
God called Joshua out of nice and comfortable into a leadership role with great leadership responsibilities.
Joshua helped lead others into their promised land.
Joshua was called by God to LEAD and that required him LEAVING a nice and comfortable position that served him and others well for a season.
It was critical that he didn’t get comfortable in a role or position past it’s time because he was being called to meet a greater need and serve in a different capacity because others was a void that was present.
We, like Joshua, have to be willing to shift and step into other positions that HE calls us into to fulfill HIS greater purpose and plan in the earth realm.
Joshua could have gotten comfortable but it would have killed God’s purpose and plan for his life. He had to ARISE and SHIFT into the greater plan, purpose and position that God had for him and let go of old, good, temporary situations that were purposeful in past seasons.
Like Joshua, when God calls we have to respond and transition out of temporary situations and into the new position He leads us to so that HIS purpose, plan and promises come to pass not just for ourselves but for others.
Joshua Installed as Leader
1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them —to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates —all the Hittites country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Like with Joshua, The Lord will call you to leave a temporary situation that has prepared you for where He is taking you. Be open and willing to shift into your next role and know that you are not only equipped because of the past experiences of temporary situations but that you are equipped and well able to do all that He calls you to because He is with you and is going to be with you everywhere you go.
Leaving temporary situations and entering into new roles does not require your anxiety. Continue serving where you are and it will be made clear when you are supposed to shift into the next place God has for you. Simply be open and willing to shift and know and remember the importance of your move.
Are you ready to ARISE and leave what is temporary so that at the right time you can help fulfill God’s purpose and plan in the earth realm? Are you ready to ARISE and respond to God’s call and boldly walk into your purpose from The Lord? Are you ready to ARISE and shine in the new role that He has for you?
