Though this is an unpopular topic, the truth still remains, there are reasons why your prayers would NOT be answered by The Lord. Within this video, I share 10 reasons why God would NOT answer your prayers supporting each reason with scripture. It is my hope that this video helps you avoid things that would hinder your prayers and assists you in remaining in a position where your prayers are not only heard by God but ANSWERED.

1.Not praying

“You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7

2. Not praying to God through His Son Jesus

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

3. Ignoring the poor

Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor

Will also cry himself and not be heard.” Proverbs 21:13

4. Mistreating your spouse

“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7

5. Ignoring the scriptures

One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,

Even his prayer is an abomination.” Proverbs 28:9

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22

6. Praying to impress others

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the [a]hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you [b]openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:5-8

7. Praying with unconfessed sin which you refused to repent

If I regard iniquity in my heart,

The Lord will not hear.

But certainly, God has heard me;

He has attended to the voice of my prayer.” Psalm 66:18-19 NKJV

“If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,

the Lord would not have listened.

But God did listen!

He paid attention to my prayer.” Psalm 66:18-19 NLT

8. Praying with unforgiveness in your heart

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25

9. Praying with selfish or lustful motives

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” James 4:3

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14 NKJV

10. Praying with a doubting heart

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:6-8

Which allows you to:
