Prayer Against the Spirit of Division

Police brutality is showing a deeper issue that is present within America, the spirit of division. Yes, the enemy is trying to divide but it is the church’s job to unite and bring to the forefront peace. It is the church’s job to help the hurting and bring comfort that can only come from God. It is the church’s job to be the salt and light of the world and show love in the midst of hate.

I am not saying that I do not COMPLETELY understand why the African American community is responding with rage and disdain to the injustice displayed by the American officials and government or that I am condemning the African American community at all. That is absolutely not what I am saying. However, what I am saying is that hate will not dispel hate. And that it is important to remember that God is our great defense and that God is faithful to defend, rescue, and vindicate. (Again, not saying that justice should not be served in the land of the living by those in charge, it absolutely should.) But I am saying that we all have to safeguard ourselves from the spirit of resentment and unforgiveness.

Ephesians 4:31-32  reads “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. “

And it is clearly stated in  Matthew 6:14-15 that unforgiveness keeps us from The Father. Matthew 6:14-15 reads, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

The Spirit of division is present within America and it does not just seek to divide the human race, it seeks to unravel and implant the spirit of unforgiveness and separate people from God.

Just like rage, greed,  malice, ect. are sins that will keep us out of the kingdom of God, so is unforgiveness. (Galatians 5:19:23). Unforgiveness keeps your prayers from being heard and it divides you from The Father. The WORST kind of division.

I am going to pray against the spirit of division and ask you to join me in agreement!:

Lord,

God, I pray that you intervene. Soften hard, and soothe hurting souls. Do what only you can do. Help the church to rise up and love as you love. And may there be great unity among the brethren to bring the lost into The Kingdom. May Your will be done on earth and may love prevail, in every season. I love you and I thank you for it.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

With love,

Kendria Shanae
