Prophetic Word: Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread

We have to remember that Jesus referenced our daily bread within His model prayer in Matthew 6.

Our daily bread is what we need and what we receive from God through prayer.

Prayer is our life source. Our means of communication with God. Through prayer we receive intimacy with God, insight, revelation, wisdom, understanding, protection, provision, direction, clarity and more.

Do not let anything (whether good or bad) taint or tarnish your prayer life.

Do not let anything interfere with your means of communication with God.

God is a jealous God and He has made His people dependent on Him.

In John 15:1-7 Jesus tells us that “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

In other words, when we stray away from our life source, things fall apart. But when we stay connected to our life source, we prosper.

God simply desires intimate time with us and He wants us to know Him for who He truly is.

Psalm 5:3 says “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayerunto thee, and will look up.” May we seek God every morning, without excuses, and spend time with Him through prayer as He desires.

Prayer, is something we need to partake in – daily, especially at the start of the day.

God has not given us a suggestion but a command to pray. Throughout scripture, God tells His disciples to pray and even shares how to do so. Matthew 6

Prayer, however, is not always easy, it requires discipline, tenacity, and focus -but. it. is. a. necessity, every day of our lives. We need to pray. Prayer is our lifeline, our means of communication with God. We receive all that we long for through prayer.

We have to set time aside and spend isolated, alone time with God in prayer. Colossians 4:2 calls us to “devote [y]ourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” Whenever God has called you to pray; arise, be alert, and pray according to the word and will of God. (I.E pray using/aligning with scripture. I. E pray surrendered to the will of God “nevertheless, not my will but Your will be done”).

Prayer is our way to be intimate with God. He is jealous for us and He wants us to desire to spend quality time with Him. Do not rush out of prayer or a lot Him a minute amount of time, together. Make time to spend with God in prayer.

Pray without ceasing.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

After set aside, quality alone time with God, pray with Him all throughout the day; just as you would talk to your spouse or friend throughout the day. Jesus desires our company, and He desires to tell us secret and hidden things, He does not want us in the dark about things to come or decisions to make, God desires to shed insight, but it only comes through prayer. Matthew 6:33 promises that when we seek God first and live righteously, everything we want, desire and need will be added unto us.

Nothing should we desire more, nothing should we prioritize before, spending time with the Lord and communing with Him.

May we now and forevermore seek God first through prayer and communion –

each and every day. And may we never miss our daily bread due to lack of quality time with God in prayer.

James 4:2, John 16:24.

Lord,

I pray you forgive us for all the sins we have committed. Forgive us for being prayerless and keep us from reverting back to that place. Forgive us for thinking we could live this life without you and that our ways are better than yours. Lord, I pray you bless us with the spirit of prayer and I pray that You help us to be obedient and respond when You call us. Help us to be alert and continuously pray without ceasing.

Thank you for a call back to You, and we are responding. We love You and we thank You for everything; all of Your love, joy, peace, kindness and mercy.

May you continue to keep us close to You and may You bless our prayer lives, like never before. May our time communing with you be rich and the favorite part of our day, today and every day to come.

In Jesus mighty and matchless name,

Amen.

With love,

Kendria Shanae
